In 2002, Square and Disney surprised everyone with the release of Kingdom Hearts. This game would star Disney and Square characters in one game, this didn't sound too appealing at first but surprisingly it was a huge success. It was so good, that they are making a sequel. Check out all the information we know.

In this game it stars the same original character Sora. He is back and looks a little older than the previous game. Alongside of him is Donald and Goofy like in the first one as well as a whole bundle of Disney characters. The storyline in this game has been heavily kept under wraps, and from articles and trailers I have seen worlds such as Olympus, The Beast's Castle, and The Underworld have been revealed. In Olympus, the famous Hercules makes his appearance, so does Hades, who is yet again trying to take down the son of Zeus. The first Square character comes out here, when Hades summons Auron to fight against Herc. But, the silent character from FFX declines Hades offer and fights Hades instead. Sora pops in just when this is happening and helps Auron get away from the flaming god. Look out though, Cerberus makes his appearance in the coliseum again.

Sora and Auron end up in some battle without Donald and Goofy which change the game a little bit because you seem to actually be able to control Auron. One really cool addition to this game is the graphical perspective of each character. When you are fighting Cerberus, Sora and the gang get basically overshadowed by the three-headed dog. The gameplay seems to be almost the same as the first installment of the series. Even thought the game is still in progress, it is clear that the game will still hold the same core controls. The camera is rumored to be a little different in battle to make it a little easier to fight. Also the computer is being tweaked a little bit for both your partner and your enemy AI are a little bit smarter than the first game, making Donald and Goofy a little better, and your enemies a little tougher. There is also a new ability in battle called “drive' which Sora kind of fuses with Donald or Goofy to make him a little stronger in battle. For example, if Sora combines with Goofy he is able to duel-wield the keyblades and gives Sora a new costume. This seems to be a very interesting addition.

The storyline has been sealed shut, and very little has been released. Though trailers have shown many screens of the mysterious cloaked individuals and Mickey Mouse fighting with a keyblade. The shadow-looking Heartless are back, along with a nice line of Disney bad guys, new and old. So, the actual storyline is still in question but it just seems like a continuance of the first installment. The graphics are looking incredible for it being in such an early stage of development, Sora is looking older and Auron is looking very cool. Donald and Goofy are looking pretty good as well, the environments are very detailed for being in development. I can't wait to see the finishing touches on this game's graphics.
